When did he know? Obama’s game of dodge ball turns to cover up and to lies
It seems like simple questions with a simple answers.
When did Obama first learn that Bill Ayers was a member of the Weathermen? When did Obama know that Ayers, or the Weathermen, committed acts of terrorism in the United States? And, the follow-up question is when did Obama “denounce” Ayers?
Rather than answer the questions- Obama and everyone that speaks for him - dodges the question, changes the subject and refuses to answer. They just keep repeating – as if it has any relevance at all to the question - that he was 8 years old when Ayers actions took place; that he denounced Ayers; that all the voters want to hear about is the economy, and that McCain is making Ayers an issue because he is out of ideas and out of time.
The issue is that we are putting a man in the White House who has never been properly vetted and who has been given a pass by the media the whole way. He has seriously questionably contacts with numerous unsavory characters. Apparently since he has gotten a free pass so far, he thinks he is so slick that he doesn’t ever have to answer for his conduct. Just dodge it. Dodge Reverend Wright, dodge Tony Rezko, dodge Obingo of Kenya, dodge how he got in Harvard, dodge everything. Slick moves from the one. The old okie-dokie. The bamboozle.

Character first - Time to take a closer look at Obama
It is less than a month before the 2008 election and most voters do not really know Barack Obama. They know this image as a charismatic speaker and they know he says he is going to “change” America and the world. He says he is a difference kind of politician we can believe in.
Obama identifies all the ills of America – lost jobs, high prices, stagnant wages, cost of college, foreclosures, the financial crisis, the need to get off foreign oil, clean up the environment, the inner cities, education, healthcare, our image to the world, hot spots and war, etc.
No one questions that he knows how to point the finger and wag it with the best of them. And no one doubts that pointing the finger and identifying the problems obvious to most Americans is effective politics. He plays to the problems most Americans relate to – the blue collar kitchen table issues. Then straight out of the play book he then directs people’s angst towards the Republicans, Bush and McCain in his we versus them class warfare.
All of this is good and well. Hope in desperate times is an elixir. It is a tried and true strategy to tout “change” when things aren’t going good for the people. We American relish in the belief that anyone has come has come to save the day. We want heroes – Paul Bunyan, Davey Crockett, Alvin York, Audie Murphy, and the like - the cavalry charging in with bugles blasting to save us from the Indians at the last minute - our Sir Lancelot on his white horse.
But, it is time to take a closer look at Obama. Can he actually deliver? Does he have the metal- the character?
The character of the candidate is the most important thing to consider in picking a president. Character is who the candidate is more than anything he says or promises or how well he says it. Abraham Lincoln once said, "Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.” Character is the stake not the sizzle. Character is what you are.
Character is by far a most important qualification for office - certainly more important than the issues. Character is the rudder that guides the boat and the issues the passengers. The passengers will unlikely get to the destination if there is no rudder to steer the boat.
If one spotlights Obama’s character, Obama retorts “the people want to hear the issues.” He avoids character because it is his weak spot. It is a basic of politics to change the issue when the issue id not good for you. The Obama campaign knows that when character becomes the issue, Obama looses.
He does not want to talk about Ayers, Wright, Obingo, Rezko – his judgment about these relations. He doesn’t want to talk about taking money from Rezko while he disregarded complaints from his constituent about no heat in the dead of Chicago winter. He does not want to talk about his misstatements about Kennedy airlifting him to America, his missing college years. How he got in Harvard and who got him in. He doesn’t want to talk about the fact that he was never a law professor.

Is the Chicago way the American Way? (revisiting the pattern of threat and intimidation)
"Obama not only trained his representatives to make effective threats but they have gone so far as to threaten people’s lives. There have been personal threats, threat to limb, threats to office, to embarrass or shame, to intimidate, to scare, and to otherwise question people's patriotism, if people don 't see it the Obama way." -- Cristi Adkins, Clintons4McCain
The Obama campaign has conducted a campaign of threat, intimidation, and misconduct which included unethical, if not, illegal conduct. There are serious questions about how, and even if , he won the Democratic Primary. Now Obama and his are applying his craft of thuggery and deception to the general election.
Death and political threats were made to the Democratic Party, to superdelegates, to members of Congress, and arguably to America and its system of democracy in order to secure the Democratic Party nomination. From threats to everyone from Congresswoman Stephanie Tubb Jones and Tavis Smiley to Missouri “police state tactics” and ACORN as an agent for voter fraud, it is the Obama modus operandi.
As one blogger put it: “While widely ignored by the mainstream media, the implications here are nothing short of momentous. The very prospect of physical intimidation as a means of garnering political compliance from Americans awakens frightening images of the thuggish antics of one William M "Boss" Tweed.”
First, Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. She had courage and conviction in her beliefs and fought for them till her death. It is a sad day in American when she was threatened before her death because of one of her beliefs - her belief in Hillary Clinton. She took the Obama threats very seriously and even had to increased her security for her protection from physical harm.. According to Susan Estrich:
“It should not have taken courage for Stephanie to support Hillary. She knew her and respected her. But it did, more than most people realize. During the campaign, I heard from friends that Tubbs Jones and Sheila Jackson-Lee, another prominent African-American Hillary supporter, were being attacked, viciously, within the black community for not supporting Barack Obama, that there was talk of their being "traitors," of primary opponents, personal threats serious enough to require additional security. I would have written about it, but my friends asked me not to, fearing it would only make people angrier and lead to more threats.”
It is appalling that her unfortunate death took place under threats from Obama or his surrogates. As disgraceful as the physical threats upon her by Obama surrogates were - she was not alone. Congresswoman Diane Watson (D-CA) was also threatened. I am sure there were a lot more.
In fact, more generally, threats were made in a very public manner. Donna Brazille threaten to leave the Democratic party unless Obama was the nominee, Al Sharpton threatened marches unless Obama was the nominee, Congressman Jim Clyburn (D-CS) threatened "irreparable harm" to the Democratic Party unless Obama was the nominee to the Democratic Party, and Color of Change - boasting 400,00 members - made similar threats. All these threats were made to assure Obama got the Democratic Party nomination. All of these threats were made openly and publically. Yet, Obama said nothing.
Recently, Missouri Governor Matt Blunt said Senator Claire McCaskill, Missouri prosecutors and sheriffs ‘have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.’ Governor Blunt also added, ‘Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.
In addition, Obama has worked for, represented, got money for, and even trained ACORN members in militant direct action tactic. Members of ACORN have been indicted for voter fraud and numerous other voter related crimes. Shawn used acts of intimidation to compel banks to make loans to blacks for and more recently paid ACORN to recruit voters. Despite the use of Intimidation as a method of persuasion, or because of it, Obama, hired ACORN to register voters and work for his campaign.
Obama said nothing. Indeed, he relished in the threats and continues various acts of intimidation. They were the hardball way he learned so well. Obama supported, ratified, condoned, approved and/or inspire all these threats to get his way and nothing is really said.
Can Obama threaten his way into the White House? So far he and his have.

The documentary “We Will Not Be Silenced” by Viviano Entertainment shows that there were thousands of complaints to the DNC about illegal and improper conduct by the Obama Campaign during the caucuses and it establishes, among other things, falsification of documents, that results were changed, that unregistered people were allowed to vote, that there were threats to Hillary supporters to scare and intimidate them, that they were stalked, and even locked out of their polling places.

“There's mounting evidence that at least some of Obama's faithful intend to see a black American president sworn in next year -- no matter what it takes.
Earlier this month, popular black author and talk-show host Tavis Smiley disclosed death threats he'd received from those accusing him of blasphemy against their black prophet. Then, at Saturday's Smiley-hosted State of the Black Union forum, Congressional Black Caucus member Stephanie Tubbs Jones lent credence to Smiley's claim by suggesting that many black elected officials not swearing allegiance to Obama have also been the target of violent threats.
While widely ignored by the mainstream media, the implications here are nothing short of momentous. The very prospect of physical intimidation as a means of garnering political compliance from Americans awakens frightening images of the thuggish antics of one William M "Boss" Tweed in mid-nineteenth century New York. Having survived the 2000 election debacle without even the threat of bloodshed, would some now have us back on the road to the iniquitous days of Tammany Hall? Not surprisingly, no one in the black community has come forward with specific complaints. But here's what we do know.

And, while he has yet to elaborate, Smiley has also mentioned the matter of death threats - levied for the mere suggestion that the mighty Obama had somehow erred.”

What would Obama’s foreign policy look like?

Answer. Very much like that of George Bush.
He wants to challenge Russia by pressing for missiles in Poland. His change you can believe in is that he wants the missiles pointed in a different direction than Bush or McCain.
He urges Georgia to join NATO so the US will have to go to war for them.
He wants to do "everything in his power" to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. This was his blood oath to AIPAC.
He wants to expand the war in Afghanistan despite the fact that an increase of about 42,000 US troops in the last year has only made it worse. Alexander the Great nor Russia could conquer them but Obama will.
He has announced very publicly that he wants to cut off aid to Pakistan under certain circumstances and invade their sovereignty if we know where a terrorist is (our intigence is so good) and Pakistan doesn't act.
The idea of pushing for more US control in Pakistan, creates more internal resistance to the government and may be destabilizing. As McCain suggested, these are not positions you broadcast.
His Senior Group on National Security is made of people that wanted the Iraq war, want to hit Iran, create more chemical and biological weapons, war hawks and several are tied directly to the weapons industry, the Carlyle Group, Lockheed Martin and the likes.
So, world, it is war and more war no matter who is elected in America.
The "control paradigm" is contagious here. It is believed that control means security and that control means war.
Little or nothing is said about Cuba, Taiwan, South America, Korea, etc.
But similar to Bush's messianic world view Obama see himself as "changing the world." That type of arrogance is always dangerous.
Drop your nets and come with me. I will make you fishers of men.

ACORN: The Poisonous NUT That Ended Democracy in America

Within its shell, ACORN contains all the makings of an intriguing government political conspiracy movie: drama, injustice, organized crime, election fraud, intimidation, violence, money, lies, extortion and a presidential candidate.[1]

New trouble brewing for Obama – intimidation in Missouri tip of iceberg
Citizen groups say “We Will Not Be Silenced”
Today Beverly Hills based film producer Bettina Viviano, founder of Viviano Entertainment, announced the start of a “30 Day Campaign for Truth” about presidential hopeful Barack Obama. The campaign will center on a documentary film entitled “We Will Not Be Silenced” produced by Viviano Entertainment and directed by Gigi Gaston. See www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com
The 30 Day Campaign for Truth will include the presentation of substantial evidence of a pattern of threats, voter intimidation, criminal violations, violation of Democratic party rules, unfair and unethical acts, and various statewide caucus irregularities that occurred across the nation in the Democratic Primaries. Similar conduct is now continuing in the general election.
According to Viviano, “over the next 30 days we will show that what the Obama campaign admittedly did in Missouri is just the tip of the iceberg. Recently, Missouri Governor Matt Blunt said Senator Claire McCaskill, Missouri prosecutors and sheriffs ‘have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.’ Governor Blunt also added, ‘Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.’”
The documentary “We Will Not Be Silenced” shows that there were thousands of complaints to the DNC about illegal and improper conduct by the Obama Campaign during the caucuses and establishes, among other things, falsification of documents, that results were changed, that unregistered people were allowed to vote, that there were threats to Hillary supporters to scare and intimidate them, that they were stalked, and locked out of their polling places.
“We Will Not Be Silenced” presents interviews with numerous witnesses including teachers, professors, civil rights activists, lawyers, janitors, physicists, ophthalmologists, accountants, mathematicians, retirees and others in caucus states. According to screenwriter/director Gigi Gaston, a Hillary supporter, “everyone turned a blind eye to thousands of complaints - at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone. When the bubble bursts Obama says sit on the bench
We are told that we are in or facing the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression – that it is a “financial Pearl Harbor” We are told that we haven’t seen anything yet. We are told that is if we don’t feel the pain of high gas prices, high food prices, runaway inflation, a struggling dollar, a depressed housing market, 6.1% unemployment, a huge trade deficit, and stagnant wages, then, brace yourself for these things are only the gentle winds that proceed the category 5 hurricane.
Since Katrina - when the government says vacant or you die - most people listen. Well, we are told by the experts that if we don’t act fast, really fast – that’s this week, a financial tsunami will hit.
Some say that McCain suspending his campaign and going to Washington to work on what most call a crisis is a stunt and that McCain is afraid to debate tonight.
I guess it is all about the lens through which you look.
Some see it as McCain putting the Country first - the campaign second. While McCain wants to get in and be involved with the nation’s biggest problem Obama sees his role as watching from the bench.
Obama spouts out a plan quickly but doesn't object to the bailout in principal and in my opinion totally missed the issue of valuing the "purchase" of the bad assets. He said nothing about the Bush plan to purchase this shit for what they see as it "matured value" rather than fire sale value - which it is.
In other words, Obama approves of letting the tax payers pay top dollar for worthless paper and hope that over the years the money is somehow returned. The drunken sailor cannot make out the important details. The main thing to appear that he is doing something and that he is for the people. Well, a plan that pays top dollar for worthless paper so that we can bailout irresponsible corrupt greedy financial companies on the people’s dime is not in the peoples interest.
The Obama campaign is saying – by pushing for the debate no matter what - that the debate tonight is more important than the greatest financial crisis in American history? Obama is playing games with the financial crisis and the debates or he just doesn’t get it. Simply put, the debate could be set off a week. The financial crisis is urgent the debates are not. While the enemy is at the gates Obama wants to debate. McCain at least wants to see for himself what we are up against and at least get in the game.
Obama is all over the place talking, talking, talking about how the crisis should not be made political when he is the one that is making it so with all his talk. Just work on the solution. Leadership is about knowing when to step in and step up. It’s about recognizing priorities.
McCain, is stepping cautiously, stepping in, and acting like a team leader not a sub on the bench.
During the run up to an election they is something eerily disturbing when we hear inaction is not an option. That rational got us into Iraq.
Fear, by the public and by politicians, is once again being used as the tool to manufacture consent for our representatives to rush into the biggest taxpayer bailout of private industry in American history – at least $700 billion and maybe more. The pigs are fat and are at the troth.
No reward for bad behavior.
Although caution may be the crutch of the skeptic, it is also the tool of the realist. One cannot forget the rush to pass the Patriot Act, the rush to establish the Department of Homeland Security, the rush to pass an Energy Bill, the rush to permit warrantless wiretaps, FISA, the rush to eliminate habeas corpus, the rush to bail out Bear Sterns, Fannie May and Freddie Mac, and, now the rush to pass a bill by Friday to bail out AIG by purchasing its bad debt.
It is billed as a “must,” no choice action, a war of last resort, the moment of truth, a do or die watermark for the survival of America. We hear again inaction is not an option. Any caution, if we hesitate, even a week will unleash the monster of doom that will rumble from Wall street to Main street and crush all, like a giant tsunami, leaving only relics of what used to be America.
When it comes to an economic recovery plan for a nation many Americans may feel, as I, like Shakespeare’s Hamlet trying to tell the real from the unreal, the truth from the lie and the benefits from the burdens. We see what we expect and we expect what we believe. Or, we may see what we hope we could see. Let’s remove the rose glasses for a minute. Stop for just a second.

Although caution may be the crutch of the skeptic, it is also the tool of the realist. We are anxious, and maybe a little desperate, but, that doesn’t justify panic and Congress should not be push into enacting legislation that expands executive power in any way.

If you can't beat them, call them names.
Today, Obama called McCain's economic plan a "cracker jack plan." He has called Republicans "ignorant." McCain a "liar." Small town Americans "bitter." And, some believe that he has implied that those that oppose him are racists. "Did I mention he's black?" (See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4bx-ccbSic)

Name calling worked so well for Bush in winning the hearts and minds of the world, Obama is using name calling in his home cooking. I can't wait to see the global version of this form of domestic diplomacy.

Obama: Is the Chicago way the American way?
Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones had courage and conviction in her beliefs and fought for them til her death.
It is a sad day in American when she was threatened before her death because of one - her belief in Hillary Clinton. She took the Obama threats very seriously and even increased her security.
According to Susan Estrich:
“It should not have taken courage for Stephanie to support Hillary. She knew her and respected her. But it did, more than most people realize. During the campaign, I heard from friends that Tubbs Jones and Sheila Jackson-Lee, another prominent African-American Hillary supporter, were being attacked, viciously, within the black community for not supporting Barack Obama, that there was talk of their being "traitors," of primary opponents, personal threats serious enough to require additional security. I would have written about it, but my friends asked me not to, fearing it would only make people angrier and lead to more threats.”
It is appalling that her unfortunate death took place under threats from Obama or his surrogates.
As disgracefully as the physical threats upon her by Obama surrogates were - she was not alone.
Congresswoman Diane Watson (D-CA) was also threatened. I am sure there were a lot more.
In fact, more generally threats were made in a very public manner.
Donna Brazille threaten to leave the Democratic party, Al Sharpton threatened marches, Congressman Jim Clyburn (D-CS) threatened "irreparable harm" to the Democratic Party, Color of Change - boasting 400,00 members made threats. All these threats were made to assure Obama got the Democratic Party nomination.
Obama said nothing. Indeed, he relished in them. They were the hardball way he learned so well.
Obama supported, ratified, condoned, approved and/or inspire all these threats to get his way and nothing be said.
Others have had their lives threatened, to be publically embarrassed, and other acts of threat and intimidation.
Is the Chicago way - thug politics going to make its way to the White House?
There should be an investigation as to how extensive the threats were. We cannot let the America way become the Chicago way

How can Obama be right and Palin wrong with same position on same issue?
The eagerness to attack Sarah Palin on anything is running off the rails. When you spit in the wind it hits you in the face. Well, Obamanites were spitting a lot about Palin's interview with ABC's John Gibson.
Dems and Obama supporters really thought that had something. So they spit and kept spitting. Red meat that made them drool.
Let's take the Georgia membership in NATO issue.
Salon.com's Joan Walsh took the bait and made a clear attack on the alleged error of Palins thinking.
According to Walsh, "Her answer committing us to defend Georgia or the Ukraine against Russia was almost as bad, and the way she spelled out what NATO membership means, by rote, you could see the quickly crammed index cards in the back of her brain."
Oh no. Wait a minute. Someone isn't paying attention or just doesn’t care.
Indeed, Barrack Obama made clear that he supported Georgia's membership in NATO, stating: "I have consistently called for deepening relations between Georgia and transatlantic institutions, including a Membership Action Plan for NATO, and we must continue to press for that deeper relationship."
Well, that deer in the headlights may have got it wrong, but, then so did Obama. One can't be right and the other wrong when they take the same position. Oh well, just wipe the spit off your face. Here's a rag.

Obama is the One that made race the issue.
In a year when many would say that no Democratic candidate for President could lose, Obama may have made a fatal mistake that will hand the Republicans a victory.
On June 20th he made race an issue saying, “Did I mention he’s black.” Just last week he said three times in one day that he would not look like all the other presidents on the dollar bills."
The McCain campaign fired back that Obama was playing the race card from the bottom of the deck. Senator Lindsay Graham agreed.
No secret campaign memo is necessary to prove that Obama play the race card. These recent comments by Obama are just the tip of the iceberg.
From day one Barrack Obama made race an issue and has played identity politics to the hilt all the way.
Obama choose a date - on or about Abraham Lincoln’s birthday - to announce his run for president. He chose Springfield, Illinois – a home of Lincoln – as the place to announce. He even chose the very courthouse steps to make the announcement that Lincoln announced his run for the presidency. And, he spoke of Abraham Lincoln and slavery in his announcement speech.
His stump speech always mentioned Abraham Lincoln and slavery at least through the South Carolina primary. And, under a category called “hope” he made sure to revive the images of police beatings, the flailing batons and of the vicious dogs being unleashed upon blacks.
He rarely, if ever, missed the opportunity to add “and blacks died.” He said “and blacks died,” “and blacks died,” “and blacks died,” over and over again. Why?
On the day of the South Carolina primary Obama, speaking before a primarily black audience, said, “You know how they are. The ole okie-dokie. The bamboozle.” Spike Lee made clear in the movie Malcolm X that when Malcolm X said something similar that he was talking about “white” people.
No opportunity to exploit race was missed. In December 2007, when Ophra Winfrey was anointing Obama as "the one, her production of the Debaters was released to anger blacks about how whites wouldn't recognize the black debating team as national champions even though they were the best in the nation.
Carefully scripted identity politics worked through the Democratic primaries and threats and intimidation may have been a factor in the ultimate result.
Donna Brazille (John Kerry’s campaign manager) threatened to leave the Democratic Party; Congressman Jim Clyburn of South Carolina (third ranking democrat in Congress) threatened “irreparable” damage to the Democratic Party; Color of Change (boasting 400,000 black membership) made its threats; Al Sharpen threaten marches (code for riots); and certain super delegates like Diane Watson (a black Congresswoman from Los Angeles), among others, were threatened.

Lipstick on the pig?
At the Republican Nation Convention Sarah Palin said in here acceptance speech that the difference between a pit bull and hockey mom was "lipstick."

Although, the lipstick on a pig - let us call it a joke - has been around for years, it is more than mere coincidence that Obama used the "lipstick" so soon after Palin did.
You can argue until you are blue in the face that Obama was not talking about Palin as the pig, but, many, if not most of us, will see the denial as a lie.
At best it was a stupid analogy to use so soon after Palin made her lipstick analogy. This goes to judgment and personal insult.
It was bad judgment to use the lipstick on a pig analogy since it should have been clear that, even if wrong, many would think Obama was calling Palin the pig.
In spite of the fact Obama said he was taking the high road (no personal attachs), the lipstick on the pig comment could certainly be taken as a personal insult and a low one at that.
So much for the high road. Obama just made us see his lipstick.

Should US press to place missiles in Poland?
Russia has opposed the placement of missiles in Poland as part of what the US touts as an anti-balistic defense system. Despite this, there is a push to proceed. Since the Geogian conflict the Polish President has renewed his commitment to allow the placement of missiles in Poland.
The Russian reaction is not unexpected. It is similar to that of the US when Russia put missiles in Cuba. War was avoided because Russia withdrew its missiles.
According to Pravda: "The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia warns Poland that it may become a priority target for Russia in the event the USA deploys elements of its missile defense system on the territory of this East European nation. To put it in a nutshell, Russia may strike a nuclear blow on Poland, which is possible after the recent change of the Russian Federation defense doctrine."

The U.S. and the Czech Republic have signed a deal involving the other major part of the proposed U.S. system. The plan calls for a tracking radar in the Czech Republic and 10 interceptor missiles in Poland.

All that Glitters Isn't Gold
When it comes to picking a President many Americans may feel, as I, like Shakespeare’s Hamlet trying to tell the real from the unreal, the truth from the lie and the person from the facade. We see what we expect and we expect what we believe. Or, we may see what we hope we could see. Let’s remove the rose glasses for a minute. Stop for just a second. Although caution may be the crutch of the skeptic, it is also the tool of the realist.
We are anxious, and maybe a little desperate, for someone to believe in. We want a person of their word that does what they say. Regardless, many of us cannot help but cautiously test the water before jumping in and supporting any candidate.
Despite being burnt by many politicians, I think that there is something deep within us that hopes we have found the one to believe in.
No doubt about it. Barack Obama inspires and this sparkle is like water for a thirsty man in the desert. Cool and refreshing. But, after being stung so many times when reaching for the honey, we must look to see if the nugget is gold all through and through.
There are some unanswered questions about Obama. Most obviously, the Rezko Affair which puts squarely in issue Barack's judgment, integrity and whether he has real concern for his own people.
When he was in the Illinois State Legislature Rezko, whom Obama calls a friend, owned 11 buildings in Obama’s district. Some had no heat in the winter and constituents complained to Obama. It does not appear that Barack did much, if anything, about constituent complaints other than send them to the Housing Authority. During this period Barack took thousands of dollars from Rezko. It does not appear that he gave the Rezko money to charity until after he was caught.
Integrity at the point of a gun, is not much to brag about.
Call me a Doubting Thomas when it comes to all candidates.
We heard the integrity and unity bit before. That bit was the campaign mantra of George W. Bush when he took the 2000 Presidential election. He delivered neither. Bush divided the country more starkly than any President in a century and made hundreds of false statements to lure America into an unnecessary war of aggression. So much for talk.
Many Obama supporters are being swept up in a carnival like atmosphere gleefully riding the merry-go-round while reaching for the brass ring of change. Is what we think we see in Obama real or is it the mirage of a thirsty man in the desert? It cannot hurt to stop for a second, look, and listen. It is so important that it would not be hyperbole to say that the future of America, if not the world, is at stake.
Is Barack Obama a snake oil salesman with a hypnotic potion or a modern day Savanarola striking at political immorality and real change?
There has always been a thrill of finding fools gold. But, there is despair when the assessor tells us the truth. Let’s hope that Obama is the real thing. But, if he is the snake oil salesman that is the same ole Washington we hate. Pretending to be something you are not is not a new kind of politics. It is the exact thing we want to change.

"I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. Is the price worth it?"
Albright didn't hesitate. "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it," said Albright.
* DAVID BOREN - The former governor and senator from Oklahoma chaired the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. is a former conservative Democratic senator. He was chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. He helped push through the appointment of Robert Gates to head the CIA in 1991. Boren's top aide at the time was George Tenet, who would later become director of the CIA under Clinton and later Bush the Younger. Boren is a longtime friend of the Bush family, and has also been courted by the right-wing Reform Party.
* WARREN CHRISTOPHER - Was Bill Clinton's first secretary of state and also served as deputy secretary of state in the Carter administration. As for Iraq, the Clinton administration inherited the devastating economic sanctions imposed by George Bush Sr. before the first Gulf War. When the pressure was on for the new administration to reconsider the sanctions, Christopher gave assurances no such thing would happen. As incoming secretary of state, he told reporters, "I find it hard to share the Baptist belief in redemption.... I see no substantial change in the position and continuing total support for what the [Bush] administration has done." Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis died as a result of the continuing economic blockade.

* LEE HAMILTON - The former Indiana congressman co-chaired the blue-ribbon commission that investigated the Sept. 11 attacks and was a lead author of Iraq Study Group report that offered recommendations on Iraq to President George W. Bush in 2006.
* ERIC HOLDER - Was deputy attorney general in Bill Clinton's administration and is working with Caroline Kennedy, daughter of slain President John F. Kennedy, in helping to guide Obama's search for a vice presidential running mate.

Clinton should have floor fight at the Democratic convention
I am one of those Clinton supporters who just can't let go and sing Koom-by-ya with Obama. Why?
This guy is not what he pretends to be. He is not honest. He is a war hawk in disguise ( he wants to hit Iran, challenge Russia and expand war in Afghanistan), has a weak energy plan (tax credit and a distant hope for alternative fuels - no muscle) , does little for the middle class (a $1,000 tax deduction at the end of the year and a pipe dream about giving a $1,000 rebate from oil company profits), he has no executive experience - probably less than any president ever - and he is arrogant.
Along the lines of honesty we should note plagiarizes his best lines (We are the we we've been waiting for, Audacity of hope, the word, tear down that wall, citizen of the world), without giving credit to the real writer.
He has very poor judgment (the surge, drilling, more troops in Afghanistan, his Senior Group on National Security, ethanol), and, under that category let's put to many questionable associations (Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, and Frank the Communist).
Obama has lied more often than most (he was not a constitutional law Professor nor was he airlifted to America by John Kennedy; his economic advisor did meet with the Canadian ambassador in Chicago; he did not answer all questions about Rezko from the Chicago Sun Times, and, he was instructed in Islam and studied the Koran).
He is a typical run of the mill politician. He blows with the wind and will say anything to get elected.
Money seems to be more important than duty or his own people He took money from Tony Rezko while his people went without heat.But, to me, worst of all, he started the race issue and has played the identity politics card like a fiddle (See, Obama is the One who made race the issue on http://www.themoderntribune.com/).
Obama is running neck and neck with McCain in a race that should be a rout. Hillary ended the Democratic primaries with the momentum. She ended up with more popular vote than any primary candidate in history. She had 18 million votes. She won the big ones and she can beat McCain.
There is a lot of buyer’s remorse and feelings of deception as the truth about Obama comes out. When he won most of his states people did not know what he really was. There is a lot more to come. After the convention it will bone too late.
For the good of America and the Democratic Party Hillary should fight to the end. Then let Obama unite the party with Hillary at the helm.

In a year when some would say that no Democratic candidate for President could lose, Obama may have made a fatal mistake that will hand the Republicans a victory. He made race the issue. No secret campaign memo is necessary to prove that Obama played the race card.
On June 20th Obama made race an issue saying, “Did I mention he’s black.” Just last week Obama said three times in one day that he would not look like all the other presidents on the dollar bills."
These recent comments by Obama are just the tip of the iceberg. From day one Barrack Obama made race an issue and has played identity politics to the hilt all the way.
Obama choose a date - on or about Abraham Lincoln’s birthday - to announce his run for president. He chose Springfield, Illinois – a home of Lincoln – as the place to announce. He even chose the very courthouse steps to make the announcement that Lincoln announced his run for the presidency.
And, he spoke of Abraham Lincoln and slavery in his announcement speech. His stump speech always mentioned Abraham Lincoln and slavery at least through the South Carolina primary. And, under a category called “hope” he made sure to revive the images of police beatings, the flailing batons and of the vicious dogs being unleashed upon blacks.He rarely, if ever, missed the opportunity to add “and blacks died.” He said “and blacks died,” “and blacks died,” “and blacks died,” over and over again. Why? On the day of the South Carolina primary Obama, speaking before a primarily black audience, said, “You know how they are. The ole okie-dokie. The bamboozle.”
Spike Lee made clear in the movie Malcolm X that when Malcolm X said something similar that he was talking about “white” people.
No opportunity to exploit race was missed. In December 2007, when Ophra Winfrey was anointing Obama as "the one, her production of the Debaters was released to anger blacks about how whites wouldn't recognize the black debating team as national champions even though they were the best in the nation.Carefully scripted identity politics worked through the Democratic primaries and threats and intimidation may have been a factor in the ultimate result.
Donna Brazille (John Kerry’s campaign manager) threatened to leave the Democratic Party; Congressman Jim Clyburn of South Carolina (third ranking democrat in Congress) threatened “irreparable” damage to the Democratic Party; Color of Change (boasting 400,000 black membership) made its threats; Al Sharpen threaten marches (code for riots); and certain super delegates like Diane Watson (a black Congresswoman from Los Angeles), among others, were threatened.
Obama never objected or even once said stop threatening his party; stop threatening America. He just rode the wave he set in motion and pretended it was others creating it.
